In March we had our first ever Spiritual Retreat Week. We took our show on the road to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a week filled holistic healing including meditations, spirit reading, Akashic record reading, Rays of Light Connection, Holy fire Reiki, a crystal grid healing session, meditative doodling and lots of relaxing pool-side. We stayed at the marvelous all-inclusive resort Velas Vallarta, where the rooms were spacious and the food was fabulous. One afternoon we went downtown to the boardwalk and old city part of Puerto Vallarta for some shopping, and another we went to the Dolphin Adventure to swim with dolphins and meet a squirrel monkey and parrots. Mostly we enjoyed all the resort had to offer.
There were at least 5 peacocks, 2 iguanas and 2 cats on the property. The landscaping was lush and reflective of the nearby tropical jungle. A meandering koi stream circled the entire property.
The gorgeous Bay of Banderas was mere steps away with a private beach at the end of the property. 24 hour room service (including morning capuchino delivery!),3 restaurants, pool-side service and lovely staff made us feel like queens for the week and made doing the work of inner spiritual exploration truly luxurious.
We had such a wonderful time and the feedback from the group was so positive that you can be sure the Center for Holistic Healing and Art will definitely be planning another Spiritual Retreat Week as well as at least one long weekend. We can’t wait!
Sometimes what we do physically is related to what we are doing/need to do internally or spiritually. Today was one of those days for me. After taking the air conditioner out of my kitchen window, I was prompted to clean the glass inside and out so I could – you see where I’m going with this – see clearly.
Over the past few weeks I have had a recurrent issue with waking up and having first one and then the other eye swollen nearly shut. After it happened a second time Andrea asked me “What aren’t you seeing?” I shrugged it off, not being able to think of anything off the top of my head that I had been avoiding, or turning away from. Now with the clean windows an old church hymn from my youth comes to mind “Open My Eyes” by Clara H. Scott. Written in 1895, it is as current today as when she wrote it over 100 years ago! Here are a few lines from it:
“Open my eyes that I may see glimpses of truth thou hast for me place in my hand that wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.”
” Open my eyes, ears and heart, illumine me, Spirit divine.”
I take this to mean that I need to be even more aware and “looking out” for the truth and illumination of the Spirit and how I may use it to serve and connect with others. I will keep this in mind and endeavor to be a bearer of Light as I interact with people through my art, Reiki, Light Connection, and mediumship.
Today I had an amazing experience while doing Light Connection on Andrea. It began as a simple realignment of her back, which bothers her periodically. It ended up with me being one half of the Light Connection team and our dear friend and healer Cheryl being the other essential half. The most amazing part about this is that Cheryl passed away in January of this year and I never got to partner with her in a healing before she left the earth plane. I don’t usually feel a client’s physical pain or subsequent release, but today I not only felt Andrea’s physical sensations in my own body, I also felt her emotions quite intensely- and their release as well! What a gift to be able to work with Cheryl as a fellow healer. The last time I saw her Andrea and I were actually doing healing work on her!
