Class Schedule: Wednesday nights 7-9 pm at 263 N. Main St.

Ongoing Classes means you never have to miss anything! Begin at any time, come when you are able, work at your own pace. Each student works on his or her own project based on their interest and skill level. Bring your own ideas/source material or use mine.   Instruction is customized for each individual.

Instruction provided primarily in watercolor and drawing, but also in pastels and acrylic.* Must bring your own materials for acrylics and pastels.

Small classes accommodate a range of levels and offer maximum attention. Everyone is at different levels of experience and there is no timeline for completing a piece. A basic understanding of drawing, color mixing and painting is preferable.

****Complete beginners are encouraged to take 1-2 private or semi-private classes before joining the group class.

Adult Class Fees: $20/class

Save!  Purchase a series of 5 classes for $85 with your materials, $100 with mine. All series of classes purchased must be used during the Sept.-June time frame during which they were purchased.

Private Classes: $50/hour

Semi-private Classes: $35/person/hour

Kristi Johnston teaches student-driven art classes for adults currently online via zoom meeting.

Adult Art Classes:

Basic experience required. Fun and relaxed atmosphere online to pursue your own subjects, learn new watercolor painting techniques and turn them into finished art you enjoyed creating! Come for one class or join us every week. Classes meet Wednesdays 7-9 pm online via zoom.

Kristi is an expert at teaching even the artistically undiscovered the techniques they need to create a lovely painting in watercolor! Gather your friends and book an evening out for creativity, laughs and whatever food and beverages you care to bring! Contact Kristi here to schedule your night out! $50 per person.

I teach with non-staining watercolors that are easy to “erase” with water, so it takes the fear out of painting!   I also teach acrylics, pen and ink, chalk pastel, oil pastel and drawing. Come do something for yourself and try your hand at art. Rediscovering Joy

This summer I rediscovered how much I enjoy painting and teaching outdoors, or “en plein air”. I had the pleasure of holding three outdoor classes- two on the cape and one at Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown,RI which is pictured above. Everyone had a great time and were unfazed by the environmental challenges like wind, sun and humidity. Mild fall weather makes it the perfect time for painting outside. Now that I have been reminded how much fun it is, I will definitely be planning more outdoor painting classes! Contact me here if this sounds like fun and you’d like to be on the email list for future classes. There will also be many opportunities for plein air painting when we’re in Mexico in March 2016.
