Sanctuary Sunday

We are being called to find and create peace- in our hearts, our families, our communities and our world. We must be the change we want to see and it is essential at this moment for us to be beacons of Light and Love. We wish to use our space at The Center for Holistic Healing and Art to do just that. To create a space for everyone who is willing to put aside politics in the name of peace, to come together to share connection and positive energy.

Beginning this Sunday, Feb.5 from 10 – 11:30 am we will open our doors and we invite you to drop by to add your intentions of fostering peace, positivity and connection. We will offer tea, coffee and bread as well as meaningful conversation. Feel free to bring your breakfast. Let’s break bread together and develop a deeper understanding of each other in a judgement and politics-free zone. Recharge, refresh and reset to prepare yourself for another week!

This event is free and open to everyone. There will be a free-will donation for beverages.

Akashic Records Questions

Akashic Records Questions

The Lords of the Akashic Records want you to get the most out of your time in your Records. They will answer your questions for your best and highest good, which means sometimes they will divert you from your original question. The more specific you can be, the richer your answers will be.

Keep in mind that your focus should be on you and your past and finding out ways to benefit from past experiences. 

They will not answer questions about someone else’s past or present except as it overlaps and impacts yours.

The best questions ask what, why or how and are specific.

Some good examples:

  • What am I not noticing regarding __________?
  • How can I change my perspective about _______ ?
  • What am I avoiding regarding __________?
  • Why am I having difficulty letting go of _________ feeling about ________?
  • What does this pain/illness that isn’t responding to treatment have to show me?
  • What perception or belief is limiting my forward motion regarding _____?
  • What past life experience has bearing on _____events or _____relationship in this life?
  • What past life circumstances or experiences are currently having an impact on my life in regards to ______?
  • Share a lifetime with me where I was_______ so I may incorporate that into my present life. (i.e. confident, gifted speaker, powerful leader, etc.)
  • I’m looking to heal _____. If a past life can show that, guide me through that healing.

I always advise that you pick your top 3 questions, write one on each page of a full-size piece of paper and have extra pages for questions that the answers you receive might generate.

Be prepared to take notes and/or record your session so you may revisit it at a later date. Many things become clearer over time and what seems unrelated to your current circumstances may make perfect sense in a week or two.

Manifesting Abundance

The focus is on practice and experimentation while we push through our comfort zone into the next level of our own connection with Spirit.

No More Hiding

This week I have heard a phrase repeated several times: “no more hiding”. It popped into my head seeing this bunny in my yard. It came as I was commenting publicly about Monday night’s presidential debate, which is out of character for me. It showed up again in a group meditation where all of us heard it loudly and clearly:  “The time to be passive is far behind. Take charge.”

I saw a video of Gary Vaynerchuk saying that he thinks there is a silent majority of people who are happy and keeping it to themselves, but the tiny percent of unhappy, angry folks are loud and make it seem as if they are the majority. His video is called Positivity on Offense!! 

Here’s my takeaway: the time to speak up is now, to stop being afraid of angering the already angry, to meet hate with love and kindness. Many atrocities have happened in our history because well-meaning people kept silent, stood by and did nothing. I don’t want to be part of that silent majority who stood by and didn’t counter the swell of hate, misinformation and anger. I want to speak up and be heard as hopeful, loving and happy.

Are you part of the happy majority? To be part of that, every moment doesn’t need to be perfect sunshine and roses, but overall are you content with where you are in life and looking forward to the future?

I am happy and I’m excited about it the future! I know that I will get out of life exactly what I put into it and experiencing more joy is at the top of my to-do list.

Let’s change the presumption that unhappiness is the norm. Let’s be the voices of love and use positive energy to change the tide and bring healing instead of division. Say it with me: ” I am HAPPY!”

Vulnerability- permission for mistreatment?

In discussing vulnerability, it seems clear that is really what is necessary to create the deepest, most meaningful connections.  Feeling connected is what we are all yearning for- connection to ourselves, to each other and to the Divine. However whenever we talk about vulnerability, we also begin to hear fear and anxiety enter the conversation.

The biggest concern is: does being vulnerable mean allowing and even inviting mistreatment? Does it require tolerance of mistreatment as an unfortunate byproduct of connection and vulnerability?

Vulnerability means sharing your true self, to stop hiding or trying to be what you think others want you to be. Instead be authentic and unapologetic for who you are at your core. When you stand fully in your vulnerability, you are the most grounded and powerful you can be- because you are owning who you really are.

Being true to yourself is no more license to be mean to others than it is permission to allow others to treat you poorly. It does not mean to remove your boundaries or to tolerate having your voice ignored or dismissed.

You have an inherent right to be fully seen, truly heard and to know that you matter. Let your heart shine. Let your true self out to play- you will find others who are doing the same and the connections you make when you are each being fully yourselves will be incredible!

26 Ways to be Safe As An Empath

26 Ways to Keep Your Peace as an Empath

I know the title is “…Ways to Stay Safe…”, but right from the start, we’d like to reframe that and say that you are ALWAYS safe. Being peaceful, comfortable, and content is really what we’re talking about here.

As an empath, the biggest challenge may be staying emotionally peaceful while still being an active participant in the world. Closing yourself off from everyone and everything that might make you feel is just not a very functional or fun option! Instead you need to find ways to comfortably be with your family & friends, go to work and navigate public spaces like grocery stores, restaurants and theaters.

You are only able to do this gracefully on a daily basis when you take time to stay grounded, re-fuel yourself with good self-care, and fully accept yourself (warts and all). Here are 26 tips on how to cope with the sense of “overwhelm” and take care of yourself so that you can be the best empathic you that you can be!

  1. Take a bath or shower. Place clearing or grounding crystals in with you for an extra boost of emotional cleansing.
  2. Take deep breaths. Visualize pulling power up from the earth as a bonus.
  3. Practice Yoga
  4. Carry a grounding crystal on you, it may be especially helpful to touch it or move it in your fingers to help you shift your energy.
  5. Burn sage or other incense.
  6. Acknowledge that the emotion is coming from outside of you.
  7. Pray- to Whomever you choose for support for you as well as for those who are suffering.
  8. Send positive, healing energy to whomever needs it.
  9. Use your sense of humor- laughter can elevate any energy!
  10. Remind yourself that you are not the cause, you cannot control it and you cannot cure it.
  11. Remove yourself from those sending out strong and uncomfortable emotions.
  12. Avoid being in close proximity to those you sense will overwhelm you with their feelings.
  13. Write down the feelings that don’t belong to you and shred them, releasing them from your energy at the same time. You could also tear the paper or burn it.
  14. Using a blow dryer or hand dryer, imagine it blowing the extra emotions away from you.
  15. Get outside. Make contact skin to ground or a tree. Release any emotions that aren’t yours to Mother Earth to be transformed.
  16. Recite or sing a mantra to change your energy and release what’s not yours.
  17.  Exercise. This is very grounding as well as mind-clearing.
  18. Meditate.
  19. Get regular massage, Reiki or other energy work to keep you balanced and clear.
  20. Make sure to include regular time alone and quiet in your schedule.
  21. Make time to be creative.
  22. Feed yourself well.
  23. Get enough sleep.
  24. Go to the water- large bodies of water are very rejuvenating.
  25. Begin your day by placing your feet on the ground very purposefully with the image of sending your roots deep into the ground. This is a very quick and easy way to start off well-grounded.
  26. Reach out for support wherever you can find it.

  8. Send positive, healing energy to whomever needs it.

  13. Write down the feelings that don’t belong to you and shred them, releasing them from your energy at the same time. You could also tear the paper or burn it.
  14. Using a blow dryer or hand dryer, imagine it blowing the extra emotions away from you.
  15. Get outside. Make contact skin to ground or a tree. Release any emotions that aren’t yours to Mother Earth to be transformed.
  16. Recite or sing a mantra to change your energy and release what’s not yours.
  17.  Exercise. This is very grounding as well as mind-clearing.
  18. Meditate.
  19. Get regular massage, Reiki or other energy work to keep you balanced and clear.
  20. Make sure to include regular time alone and quiet in your schedule.
  21. Make time to be creative.
  22. Feed yourself well.
  23. Get enough sleep.
  24. Go to the water- large bodies of water are very rejuvenating.
  25. Begin your day by placing your feet on the ground very purposefully with the image of sending your roots deep into the ground. This is a very quick and easy way to start off well-grounded.

Sanctuary Sunday

We are being called to find and create peace- in our hearts, our families, our communities and our world. We must be the change we want to see and it is essential at this moment for us to be beacons of Light and Love. We wish to use our space at The Center for Holistic Healing and Art to do just that. To create a space for everyone who is willing to put aside politics in the name of peace, to come together to share connection and positive energy.

Beginning this Sunday, Feb.5 from 10 – 11:30 am we will open our doors and we invite you to drop by to add your intentions of fostering peace, positivity and connection. We will offer tea, coffee and bread as well as meaningful conversation. Feel free to bring your breakfast. Let’s break bread together and develop a deeper understanding of each other in a judgement and politics-free zone. Recharge, refresh and reset to prepare yourself for another week!

Akashic Records Questions

The Lords of the Akashic Records want you to get the most out of your time in your Records. They will answer your questions for your best and highest good, which means sometimes they will divert you from your original question. The more specific you can be, the richer your answers will be.

Keep in mind that your focus should be on you and your past and finding out ways to benefit from past experiences. 

They will not answer questions about someone else’s past or present except as it overlaps and impacts yours.

The best questions ask what, why or how and are specific.

Some good examples:

  • What am I not noticing regarding __________?
  • How can I change my perspective about _______ ?
  • What am I avoiding regarding __________?
  • Why am I having difficulty letting go of _________ feeling about ________?
  • What does this pain/illness that isn’t responding to treatment have to show me?
  • What perception or belief is limiting my forward motion regarding _____?
  • What past life experience has bearing on _____events or _____relationship in this life?
  • What past life circumstances or experiences are currently having an impact on my life in regards to ______?
  • Share a lifetime with me where I was_______ so I may incorporate that into my present life. (i.e. confident, gifted speaker, powerful leader, etc.)
  • I’m looking to heal _____. If a past life can show that, guide me through that healing.

I always advise that you pick your top 3 questions, write one on each page of a full-size piece of paper and have extra pages for questions that the answers you receive might generate.

Be prepared to take notes and/or record your session so you may revisit it at a later date. Many things become clearer over time and what seems unrelated to your current circumstances may make perfect sense in a week or two.

Each time we meet we’ll begin with a group meditation. This meditation will focus on joining together all of our energies and those of our guides and non-physical support to create a safe space in which to explore our abilities beyond the 5 senses.
We’ll work together as a group on some nights and in smaller groups or in pairs on others.
The focus is on practice and experimentation while we push through our comfort zone into the next level of our own connection with Spirit.

No More Hiding

This week I have heard a phrase repeated several times: “no more hiding”. It popped into my head seeing this bunny in my yard. It came as I was commenting publicly about Monday night’s presidential debate, which is out of character for me. It showed up again in a group meditation where all of us heard it loudly and clearly:  “The time to be passive is far behind. Take charge.”

I saw a video of Gary Vaynerchuk saying that he thinks there is a silent majority of people who are happy and keeping it to themselves, but the tiny percent of unhappy, angry folks are loud and make it seem as if they are the majority. His video is called Positivity on Offense!! 

Here’s my takeaway: the time to speak up is now, to stop being afraid of angering the already angry, to meet hate with love and kindness. Many atrocities have happened in our history because well-meaning people kept silent, stood by and did nothing. I don’t want to be part of that silent majority who stood by and didn’t counter the swell of hate, misinformation and anger. I want to speak up and be heard as hopeful, loving and happy.

Are you part of the happy majority? To be part of that, every moment doesn’t need to be perfect sunshine and roses, but overall are you content with where you are in life and looking forward to the future?

I am happy and I’m excited about it the future! I know that I will get out of life exactly what I put into it and experiencing more joy is at the top of my to-do list.

Let’s change the presumption that unhappiness is the norm. Let’s be the voices of love and use positive energy to change the tide and bring healing instead of division. Say it with me: ” I am HAPPY!”

Vulnerability- permission for mistreatment?

In discussing vulnerability, it seems clear that is really what is necessary to create the deepest, most meaningful connections.  Feeling connected is what we are all yearning for- connection to ourselves, to each other and to the Divine. However whenever we talk about vulnerability, we also begin to hear fear and anxiety enter the conversation.

The biggest concern is: does being vulnerable mean allowing and even inviting mistreatment? Does it require tolerance of mistreatment as an unfortunate byproduct of connection and vulnerability?

Vulnerability means sharing your true self, to stop hiding or trying to be what you think others want you to be. Instead be authentic and unapologetic for who you are at your core. When you stand fully in your vulnerability, you are the most grounded and powerful you can be- because you are owning who you really are.

Being true to yourself is no more license to be mean to others than it is permission to allow others to treat you poorly. It does not mean to remove your boundaries or to tolerate having your voice ignored or dismissed.

You have an inherent right to be fully seen, truly heard and to know that you matter. Let your heart shine. Let your true self out to play- you will find others who are doing the same and the connections you make when you are each being fully yourselves will be incredible!

26 Ways to Keep Your Peace as an Empath

I know the title is “…Ways to Stay Safe…”, but right from the start, we’d like to reframe that and say that you are ALWAYS safe. Being peaceful, comfortable, and content is really what we’re talking about here.

As an empath, the biggest challenge may be staying emotionally peaceful while still being an active participant in the world. Closing yourself off from everyone and everything that might make you feel is just not a very functional or fun option! Instead you need to find ways to comfortably be with your family & friends, go to work and navigate public spaces like grocery stores, restaurants and theaters.

You are only able to do this gracefully on a daily basis when you take time to stay grounded, re-fuel yourself with good self-care, and fully accept yourself (warts and all). Here are 26 tips on how to cope with the sense of “overwhelm” and take care of yourself so that you can be the best empathic you that you can be!

  1. Take a bath or shower. Place clearing or grounding crystals in with you for an extra boost of emotional cleansing.
  2. Take deep breaths. Visualize pulling power up from the earth as a bonus.
  3. Practice Yoga
  4. Carry a grounding crystal on you, it may be especially helpful to touch it or move it in your fingers to help you shift your energy.
